CBSE CTET 2016: Eligibility criteria, Education Qualification, Age Limit: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has published the detailed notification for Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). The exam is scheduled on February 21, 2016.
The minimum eligibility criteria to attempt the test is mentioned below:
Minimum qualifications for primary stage (Classes 1 to 5):
- The candidates applying for this post should have acquired a senior secondary certificate (or its equivalent), having obtained at least 50 per cent marks. Also, the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of 2-year diploma in elementary education
OR
- The candidates should have acquired a certificate in senior secondary exam (or its equivalent), having acquired at least 45 per cent marks. Also, the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of 2-year diploma in elementary education in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002
OR
- The candidates should have acquired a certificate in senior secondary exam (or its equivalent), having acquired at least 50 per cent marks. Also, the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
OR
- The candidates applying for this test should have acquired a senior secondary certificate (or its equivalent), having obtained at least 50 per cent marks. Also, the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of two-year diploma in Education (Special Education)
OR
- The candidates should be graduates. And they should have passed or should be appearing in final year of two year diploma in Elementary Education.
Minimum Qualifications for Elementary Stage (Classes 6 to 8):
- The candidates should be graduates. And they should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of two-year diploma in Elementary Education
OR
- The candidates should be graduates, having obtained at least 50 per cent marks. And the candidates should have acquired one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) programme degree
OR
- The candidates should be graduates, having obtained at least 45 per cent marks. And the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in one year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) programme, in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard
OR
- The candidates should have obtained a senior secondary certificate (or its equivalent), having acquired at least 50 per cent marks. And the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in final year of four- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) programme
OR
- The candidates should have obtained a senior secondary certificate (or its equivalent), having acquired at least 50 per cent marks And the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed programme
OR
- The candidates should be graduates, having obtained at least 50 per cent marks. And the candidates should have passed or should be appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education) programme.
NOTE:
- Degree course in Teacher Education: The candidates should note that a diploma/degree course in teacher education recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) shall be considered. However, in case of diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.ED (Special Education), a course recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) shall be considered.
