CLAT 2016 Exam Analysis (Live Now)
CLAT 2016 conducted by RGNLU (Patiala) on May 7, 2016. This paper was probably the easiest CLAT ever. We at LST had predicted an easy paper, but it surpassed all our expectations. It looked like the CLAT 2014 paper conducted by GNLU.The pattern of the paper however did not witness any change. If you are a LSTian you would have found many questions in the paper straight from the LST Mocks and the Material. The paper had a total of 200 questions spread across five sections - English, GK, Elementary Mathematics, Logical Reasoning and Legal Aptitude. Each correct attempt would get 1 mark while each incorrect attempt would attract a negative score of 0.25 marks.

One of the easiest English sections of the recent past. The following types of questions were a part of the English Section- One Passage with 10 Questions.
- Fill in the blanks with “Grammatically” correct options
- Questions of Idioms, Spellings, Migratory Words
- Vocab Based Questions
General Knowledge & Current Affairs
A pleasant surprise was that an event that happened as late as May 6, appeared in the exam. There were 35 Questions of Current Events and 15 Questions of General Awareness that were of the Static Type.Elementary Mathematics
This was probably the section that has changed the most in terms of the level of difficulty. This section of the paper had 20 questions. There were a few questions that were “tricky”, which could have tempted the students in marking the wrong answers.Legal Aptitude
There were 15 Questions of Legal Knowledge which were fairly easy. The rest were Legal Reasoning which did not have any “surprise” elements. There was absolutely no need for any prior legal knowledge to crack this section. Most of the questions had 2 choices which were definitely not the answers !! There was a good mix of Torts, Contracts, …and other types of Law questions.Logical Reasoning
There were 23 questions of Verbal type and 17 questions that were “ Math / Analytical” Type There were questions of the following types- Statement Assumption
- Cause and Effect
- Analogy
- Odd Word Out
- Syllogism
- Llogical consistency
- Truth and falsity
